Disclaimer: Wisbroek continuously strives for optimal composition of the various types of feed. Shown values may therefore differ from the actual product. See the label on the package for the exact composition.
Feed Lories, in addition to their daily protion of nectar and fruit, ad libitum with Wisbroek Lory Diet. The advantage of the pellets is that selective eating behavior is impossible. Every pellet contains exactly the same ingredients and your bird always receives all necessary nutrients. Especially with a gradual transition, the birds easily adapt to the pellets and all nutritional needs are covered.
Is Wisbroek Lory Diet new for your bird(s)?
Then it is best to let your birds gradually switch to Wisbroek Lory Diet; for example on the basis of the step-by-step plan that we have compiled. If necessary, grind a portion of Wisbroek Lory Diet and mix it with the nectar. The next step might be to mix unground pellets through the fruit or nectar. You can always offer Wisbroek Lory Diet dry to the birds to introduce the feed to them.
Be aware that when you feed your birds 100 grams of fruit or nectar, this consists of 85 grams of water. Wisbroek Lory Diet consists of only 8 grams of water per 100 grams of feed. A lower feed intake is therefore quite normal since the energy content per gram of ingested feed is much higher. Try to be diverse in fruit feeding. Combine the fruit supply with different carbohydrates, f.e. grapes (glucose, fructose) with mango (sucrose) or pear (fructose) with banana (starch).
